Extension of Deadline for 2025 Personal Income Tax Returns
The deadline for 2025 Personal Income Tax Returns has been extended following a Decree issued by the Council of Ministers on 12 June 2026 and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
The extension applies not only to the submission of the Personal Income Tax Return for the 2025 tax year but also to the payment of any tax due based on the return.
New Deadline for 2025 Personal Income Tax Returns
Eligible taxpayers now have until 31 October 2026 to submit their 2025 Personal Income Tax Return and settle any corresponding tax liability.
This extension provides additional time for taxpayers to gather the necessary information, review their tax position, and ensure compliance with their filing obligations.
Who Is Eligible for the Extension?
The extended deadline applies to individuals who:
- Are not self-employed, and
- Are not required to prepare audited or reviewed financial statements.
Taxpayers who fall within these categories can benefit from the additional time granted under the Decree.
Why Is This Important?
Meeting tax filing deadlines is essential to avoid unnecessary penalties, interest charges, and administrative complications. The extension offers taxpayers greater flexibility while ensuring they remain compliant with their obligations under Cyprus tax legislation.
Individuals are encouraged not to wait until the last moment and to begin preparing the required documentation well in advance of the revised deadline.
